What we want

My guess is that I am not unusual amongst sex bloggers, in that I have a separate email address for all things lewd and lascivious, and I do not necessarily login to it on a daily basis. I’ve been busy of late, and so it’s been about a week since I checked out my inbox. Although these days the majority of my emails are from WP, alerting me to comments, likes and new posts, many of them are advertising from companies I’m happy to receive messages from, (Agent Provocateur, Dead Good Undies, Libidex, Lovehoney, Bondara etc), others are news letters (from the likes of Club RUB, London Fetish Fair and Coffee Cake and Kink, which used to be the only fetish cafe in London, though is now sadly resident only on the web), and there a few forum updates (Literotica, Chastity Mansion etc). But as I scanned through the list today, one message stood out. It was from Relate and was titled Find out the results from Relate / Ann Summers partnership, plus watch our video…‏

It should be no surprise to you, Dear Reader, that I get emails from Relate, or Ann Summers, and if you stop and think about it, they are far from the most unlikely of bed fellows. But I for one had to stop to rationalise their partnership – cheap (if glossy) high-street sex-toy shop and relationship counselling service – ah yes – sex is supposed to be part of a healthy relationship and Relate also provide sex therapy – OK, I get it. But it was still unusual enough to have caught my eye.

Obviously I read the email, and followed the links to the survey results.

If i were to put my cynical hat on, I am tempted to suggest the report is a quite glass half full take on the results, but that may be a little unfair, as I’ve yet to find an actual list of questions and purely numerical list of responses. However, it does take a relatively optimistic view of the UK’s sex lives. The one thing that kind of undermines this slightly for me is the likely nature of the respondents: those finding the survey via Relate are trying to improve their relationships and/or sex lives so are, to a degree, motivated by positivity, at least in terms of wanting things to be good, and those finding the survey via Ann Summers are most likely having fun with sex toys and underwear, so are probably relatively happy with their sex lives … or at least trying to spice things up.

But hey, I studied statistics for a while, and I’m a cynical old **** at the best of times, so I always try to find the fallacy in any survey’s interpretations. My bad! Maybe you’ll read it and think the world is doomed, or is indeed covered in silk sheets and rose petals (or rubber sheets and pierced pussy petals). I suggest you don’t listen to me, and make up your own minds, so here are the results …

  1. I can’t read this now…too small on an iPad at thΓ© library. My internet is down at home. I feel like I’m in Siberia!

    Bisous you,

    • I thought size didn’t matter? But I guess in Siberian temperatures, everything does get smaller.

If you’re talking about the pdf link, you can copy the url to google, and in the search results will be an option to “view as html.” That will get around small font sizes in the pdf.

    • It was all tiny and extemely shiny in the library….I could have brought
      glasses….no WAY!

    • dawninflux Says:

      Hi Dawn! πŸ™‚

    • Hi Dawn! I loved your photo! Is your name really Dawn? Mine is.

    • dawninflux Says:

Sorry for the delay. I tried to make myself answer this. I’m cautious about publicly confirming identifying information. I’m sorry my paranoia gets in the way of answering your understandable question.

    • I should probably be more like you. I’ve always had a big mouth! πŸ™‚

    • Maybe you just need to find a big cock to fill it?

    • Most likely. (I guess I should feign shock but I’m getting too old for that kind of stuff! πŸ™‚ )

I had a scare recently, that prompted changing my username. With that fresh in my memory, I am extra cautious. I really tried to hit send, to respond properly. If I hadn’t given up, you’d still be waiting for a answer. I didn’t thank you for your question, so let me do that now: Thank you!

I also want to apologize for the double name issue. I didn’t know you were named Dawn as well. I could have called myself “Silverware,” and no one would have been the wiser. Oh, well.

I know that the scattered talk about everyone meeting in one city, will only be optimistic talk, but it is you and Accidental that I think about. You are on the other side of the ocean, and it would be more costly for you to come. But it would be nice to meet you both.

      Hugs xx ~

PS – Or, we could all meet in Amsterdam! Oh, that sounds fun. Oh my…! ~ dances around ~

    • There’s been talk of a meet-up? Really? Aside from the continental issue, I think you can count me out – far too many sexy people I’d want to fuck, and I’m supposed to be trying to fix my marriage.
That said, if you’re all meeting in a bar, I might see if I can covertly get a job serving drinks.

Scattered mention, yes. And I can’t afford it either. But if I’m going to wonder about meeting all of you, then some place like Amsterdam or Las Vegas were sexuality is not demonized? Well, I can see us having lots of fun. πŸ™‚

  2. I’m with dawninflux. Let go somewhere! Hugs to the both of you!

    • dawninflux Says:

Okay! I just need to become instantly rich first. But maybe that won’t take too long. πŸ™‚

      Hugs to you too!
