A shift backwards

Thinking about the polarity of fetish porn the other day got me thinking about another imbalance in online porn. As strange as it may seem, I think the first time I really started noticing the phenomenon was about 2yrs ago; around the same time Google started to get all prudish about porn. There seemed to be an increase in one particular twist of the depiction of delightful debauchery. In a word, derrière. Or for those who’s French isn’t as good as their Greek, anal.

If you do a Google image search for porn, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll see a lot of anal. Indeed, when I tested this today, in a search simply for porn, none of the first 14 images depicted vaginal penetration, and 7 of them were of anal sex.

… but that’s not the point.

I wondered if this was indeed peculiar to Google. Perhaps, in a misguided attempt to put users off pornography, they figured let’s give the perverts something extreme and disgusting to put them off. Well, I don’t think that’s going to work. But as an experiment I tried Bing’s image search instead. And of the first 10 pictures …

… 6 were of sodomy, or the aftermath, or three-cocks-in-three-holes (which I think you’ll agree counts). And whilst I did particularly liked the centre image above, I’d rather the bias was reversed in favour of cunts.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a bit of buggery as much as the next bloke (probably considerably more if it involves getting fucked in your own arse with a strapon) but most days I’d rather be pounding a pussy than reaming a rectum. Equally, that’s my preference for porn: fannyUK not fannyUSA.

I think it’s fair to say there’s a general perception that sodomy is less taboo these days (even if it’s rare to use that most biblically judgemental of words). In the Irish Times’ 2015 Sex Survey, around half of heterosexual men and women said they’d had some back door action, whilst in 2009, Kinsey Confidential said that only about 12% had indulged in anal in the last year. Which ever is more representative of the truth, it certainly seems as though the percentage of anal porn available online is not representative of people’s desire for buggery.

So, in 15 words or less, complete the following sentence: Online porn depicts lots and lots of bumholes stuffed with cocks, dildos and fingers, or stretched wide and dripping with jizz because …
