Sinful Sunday 396 – Bad dad

As parents we all try to set a good example to our progeny – keep your room tidy, look after your toys, be respectful to others. The lessons we try to teach our kids range from beneficial to imperative, are seemingly endless … and largely unappreciated. Maybe when we’re old and incontinent they’ll make sure our geriatric incarceration is a comfortable one, and they’ll occasionally come and visit us in the home. Or that’s the received wisdom.

Sinful Sunday

In the meantime, we find ourselves tidying their rooms for the umpteenth time, trying to figure out a way to mend a worthless piece of plastic, and swearing at the little ****s while they’re at school.

We look at the broken toy again.
It could doubtless be fixed.
But if they show no respect for their own possessions …
And it’s not exactly revenge.
But …

Just for the record, Judgemental Reader, I both thoroughly washed myself before the heinous act (yes, there was a degree of premeditation) and sterilized the toy afterwards. And I do feel quite guilty about this … but it did make me giggle.
And yes, as you will see, I had already fixed it.
